Frequently Asked Questions

What cloth options do you have?

a current listing of my cloth samples can be found here.

do I need approvals for binding fanfic?

yes, unless the authors have stated or given blanket permission (see a list of one’s I know of here), I will require permission from the author to bind their story.

this includes permission for any art that might go into the binding - I will choose to print the art on a case by case basis, but will always need permission to include it beforehand.

What styles do you bind?

The standard case binding is one I default to. This comes in two varieties: half cloth and full cloth. Half cloth is when the spine section of the book is encased in bookcloth and the rest of the cover is decorative paper or design. Full cloth is the whole thing is covered in cloth. You can see many of the two types in my portfolio.

I can also do other types of binding including Coptic (exposed spine), if you have a style you want just send an email and I can take a look.

What fandoms do you bind?

I am open to any fandom, fanfic, or pairing - I reserve the right to decline to bind particular stories on a case by case basis, but do not have a list of ‘banned’ ships or stories.

Do you bind other things?

I love to bind anything - sketchbooks, bullet journals, regular journals. I will also happily bind your original story as well. If you have something you’re not sure about, ask! This is a creative practice at heart and I’d love to explore ideas.

Do you have a waitlist?

I do keep a queue of people looking for a commission, but I also will release slots semi-regularly on my etsy store. The etsy listing is a flat rate, no custom materials ordering, but I will still work with you to get the right style and design as I always do. I recommend contacting me about what you want and I’ll put you on my list as we discuss it, but also set an alert for my store if an option pops up!

What are your prices?

check out my commissions page for updated info on how I do pricing for commissions.
